I am an independent writer, photographer, and Web publisher.

I wrote and spoke about the online world during the World Wide Web's dynamic emergence. My site, johndecember.com, is a legacy of that journey.

Today, I photograph moments and scenes, read about urbanism, transportation, and cultural geography, and use my skills to live simply. I’m committed to lifelong learning and personal growth as a way of living.

My writing and advocacy now center on urban transportation. While the last decades were about the development of cyberspace, the next decades will involve our remaking of real space--the world of cities, housing, transportation, and human-centered versions of the built environment.
